Sample Research Papers
The sample Sunapee High School paper and the sample Sunapee Middle School paper both follow Modern Language Association guidelines and can serve as blueprints for your own research paper. Besides being well written, the papers show the MLA formatting necessary for a research paper’s header, heading, title, paragraph spacing, in-text citations, and a final works cited page.

MLA Style Guidelines
SMHS students are expected to use Calibri 11, unless their teacher chooses a different font. Besides font, there are MLA guidelines for a paper’s front page and for the works cited page, all of which are followed by the citation maker in NoodleTools.

Sample Works Cited Entries and the Core Elements of MLA Citations
These examples of MLA citations are based on MLA’s core elements of citation, found in the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers. The core elements, which can be applied to any information source, are built in the following order with the following punctuation.

Sample In-text or Parenthetical Citations
