Reading Counts quizzes may be completed on any library desktop. During the summer months, it is best to call in advance and arrange a time to complete a quiz. Students who read books not listed on the SMHS Summer Reading List can use this Scholastic Reading Counts link to quickly see if there’s a Reading Counts quiz available for their summer reading book choices. Here’s how: Search for any book title and check the Format column of the results page (see picture). If you see the word “Quiz” listed, then it’s available on a library desktop.  By clicking on a book’s title, other information such as word count and Lexile level can also be found. This is important because a certain level of Lexile is often required by teachers. What’s a Lexile? A Lexile score is a measurement of a book’s difficulty. Learn more at the Lexile Framework for Reading site.
