Databases comprised mostly of scholarly journals () are recommended for students in grades 11 and 12 only, while databases that provide access to a wide array of general information sources on a wide variety of topics (†) are recommended for other students, unless specific research needs dictate otherwise.

  • Encyclopedia Britannica † — Encyclopedia Britannica School Edition
  • Google Scholar — Provides a search of scholarly books and academic journals across many subjects, some of which are full-text
  • Questia School † — Similar to Gale Virtual Reference Library, but sources include regular nonfiction books, magazines, newspapers, and academic journals. Log in with your school email address and your assigned password, which appears on the Passwords page of this website
